I am writing this letter during our fall rally at Fort Myers Beach. This is Southeast’s first visit to this area in several years. We are at the Gulf Waters RV Resort and it is a wonderful facility with great sites and a large well-equipped meeting room. There is a lot to do in this area. There are 21 southeast coaches attending with three being first timers. A vote was held during this rally asking if there is an interest in a return and the vote was unanimous for a fall rally here in 2019!
In October Ray and I will be attending a reunion of the USS Sturgeon, one of the submarines Ray was stationed on. We are using this opportunity to visit Savannah, Georgia. We have never been to Savannah and are really looking forward to it! During our visit to Savannah I plan on researching places for a future Southeast or Regional rally. In a recent southeast newsletter, I asked for input and I want to thank the people that responded.
We are looking forward to Southeast’s Christmas rally at Sun N Fun. We are fortunate that our experienced rally hosts Terry & Belinda Moorefield, Wendy Gaynor and Dave & Ann Laudick have volunteered to provide a fun filled rally. Our annual Christmas Rally has been held at the Sun-N-Fun resort in Sarasota for several years. Sun-N-Fun is a luxury facility that is widely recognized as one of the premier RV resorts in the world, the 2018 rally is near capacity and we are going to have to plan for Christmas 2019. I would appreciate your opinion.
Both of our January rallies are very close to capacity. For years Southeast scheduled the Regional Rally to run at the same time as the Florida Supershow. In 2017 a change was required after the Supershow changed their schedule and we were already under contract with Lazydays. We decided to offer attending the Supershow as a group and now due to popular demand our schedule will include the Lazydays event and the Supershow. We recognize that there are people that would like to return to the schedule of the past and I understand, however Lazydays has recognized the demand for sites during the Supershow and they have dramatically increased their rates during Supershow week.
The great news about January is that after shortening the regional to three nights and having the regional end the morning the groups enter the fairgrounds, we now have more interest in Lazydays and our enthusiasm to attend the Supershow continues to grow!
Registration for the Supershow opened on September 18 and rapidly neared capacity! Thirty-two Southeast coaches registered within the first two days and approximately forty within the first week. Rally includes access to the Supershow, 30A electrical and just about non-stop socials! We park together and have a great time! We have requested to be parked in the same area as the past two years and to have the same arrival time.
Information, agendas and registration for our rallies is always available at www.myamericancoach.com and www.southeastaca.net. Welcome to Southeast’s newest members! Scott & Maureen Gibson from Clearwater, FL
Ray and I feel very fortunate to be a part of this chapter and we hope to see you soon!
